What to do if you are absent:

You will have according to Shelby County policy to make up work missed from an excused absence. If work is not made up during this time the grade for those assignments becomes a zero. Students will be given a syllabus at the beginning of each week with all lessons, assignments, tests, quizzes and anything else done in class listed on it. When you are absent you should:

1)copy notes from a friend

2)see the syllabus and turn in any assignments

3)arrange a date to take any tests, quizzes and/ or special activities.

Students who are absent the day before a test, quiz or project is due and were aware of the due date of the assignment are expected to take the test or turn the project in on the assigned date.  Late projects will result in a 10-point deduction for each day.

Notebook:

Each student is expected to keep a neat and organized notebook. There will be notebook quizzes given often. Any information that should be in the notebook can be asked on a quiz. The following dividers should be kept:

  1. Notes
  2. Assignments (classwork/homework)
  3. Test/Quizzes

Grading Policies

Your grade will be determined as follows:

  1. Tests
  2. Quizzes
  3. Projects
  4. Homework
  5. Bellwork/Classwork
  6. Participation
  7. Any other method I deem worthy

We will use the point system to determine the average. The points received will be divided by the points possible.  Grade sheets will be provided.

If at any time you are unhappy with a test/quiz grade, you may retake the test/quiz and I will take the average of both grades. However, this must be done on an appointment time. There will be NO EXECPTIONS. Nine weeks test and exams cannot be retaken.

Cheating

* Will Not Be Tolerated! This includes copying another students homework. All students involved will receive a “zero”.

This is the parent facing site. This may not get parents all the way to full comprehension…but definitely a place to get them started in helping their kids.
